The Golden Rule teaches us to treat others like we want to be treated. The Golden Rule of Politics is a bit different: Treat others like you have been treated — good, bad or ugly.
That rule is on display in a new video distributed by the presidential campaign of Democrat Hillary Clinton, which contrasts what Clinton rival Barack Obama said about a single-payer healthcare system in 2003 and what he said in a Democratic debate last night. Here’s the video:
Where could Clinton’s campaign possibly have gotten the idea of attacking an opponent by using his own flip-flops against him? Oh, I don’t know, maybe from the third top Democrat in the race, John Edwards.

Democrat Hillary Clinton released a trio of 30-second advertisements over the past two days, as the presidential ad wars continue to heighten in advance of Super Tuesday on Feb. 5. The subjects of Clinton’s ads: economic relief for the middle class and energy independence.

The candidate advertisements are coming almost daily now that the nation is in the thick of the presidential primary season. This is the first roundup installment of the latest ads. I’ll be posting them as warranted under the headline above, without any commentary from me.
Plenty of other Web sites offer analysis of the ads. I’ll just post them so AirCongress readers can see what the candidates have to say in their own words.

Democrat John Edwards has become the second presidential candidate to join the voter-generated video debate at 10Questions.com — and the first to answer all 10 questions selected by users of the site. (Republican Mike Huckabee was the first to participate, but he answered only nine of the questions.)
The No. 1 question as chosen by 10Questions users focuses on “network neutrality,” a term used to describe the push for a government mandate on communications network owners to treat high-speed Internet content equally.
“What we have to make certain,” Edwards said, “is that the Net does not go the way of broadcast television and commercial radio, where only a few corporate voices are heard.”
