Rep. Wayne Gilchrest is a tax hiker from way back, a lover of pork-barrel projects, a public official determined to line his own pockets with pay raises, and a liberal who votes like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Well, at least that is Gilchrest’s biography according to The Club For Growth, which is no fan of the Maryland Republican and wants to see him defeated in the GOP primary Feb. 12. It’s a message that Andy Harris, the conservative rival to Gilchrest, is sending himself. Here are ads by the club and Harris

Well, that didn’t take long. A day after Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of former President John F. Kennedy, endorsed Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, she is featured in an advertisement for Obama. The ad also features footage of JFK.
Hillary Clinton, one of Obama’s rivals, also released a new ad:

Rudy Giuliani, once the frontrunner in the Republican presidential race but lately an also-ran, certainly doesn’t think he needs newspaper endorsements. In fact, he’s boasting about not getting them from top papers in Florida.
They picked rival John McCain instead because he’s the more “liberal” candidate, Giuliani says in a new ad. It’s a clever, if somewhat desperate, sales pitch.
Republican Ron Paul also released a trio of ads, and McCain attacked rival Mitt Romney in an ad titled “A Tale Of Two Mitts.”

Republican rival Mike Huckabee is a fan, Democrats fear him: John McCain for president — or at least that’s the message McCain’s campaign is sending in his ads. Here’s the new one dubbed “Democrats’ Worst Nightmare,” followed by more of the latest ads from McCain and the rest of the presidential field:

As policymakers weigh what further steps, if any, to take to address the home mortgage crisis, the Ad Council is trying to educate consumers by running public-service advertisements about foreclosures. The ads encourage homeowners at risk of losing their homes to call 888-995-HOPE for quality counseling and financial advice.
A separate Ad Council campaign dubbed “Feed The Pig” aims to teach people ages 25 to 34 to save for every stage of life.
Here’s a look at the ads:
In the House yesterday, meanwhile, Rep. Hilda Solis, D-Calif., decried the impact of the subprime mortgage crisis on her district in Los Angeles, where a family loses a home to foreclosure every hour.
