Bill Clinton: Attack-Dog-In-Chief

January 21, 2008, 2:28pm

Is former President Bill Clinton helping or hurting the presidential campaign of his wife, Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton? That question is being debated as thoroughly as the meaning of Bill Clinton’s sentences during the height of his impeachment, and TPMtv has a video roundup of the chatter.

Here are some excerpts, followed by the TPMtv video:

  • “It’s a metabollic urge on his part. He’s an Olympic-class whiner.”
  • “He has to be sent far away because he reinforces a direct threat. … He’s having a meltdown in every state.”
  • “He’s a much better politician on behalf of himself than he is on behalf of anybody else.”
  • If Hillary can’t control Bill now, what’s she going to do with him when she’s in the White House.”
  • “She is a woman; she’s running for president; she’s running for head of the United States, chief executive officer. And she has to send her husband out to yell at the neighbors? … There’s something strange, jarring, unbecoming and even unfeminist about it.”

Slicky boy will not shut up for the simple reason that he can’t. He knows, as most of the rest of us do, that Rodham simply can’t swing this all by herself. Her entire career is built upon him and they both know it. He’s just hoping that nobody else notices that salient fact. It is way too late in the game for both he and Rodham to take the advice of Rahm Emmanuel or Ted Kennedy, and that sums up his problem quite succinctly. For his entire life, he has done as he pleased with impunity because nobody EVER told him, “No,you can’t do that, Bill.” They didn’t dare, and now that somebody is actually trying to do that, it’s falling on deaf ears. Why would anybody expect the poster boy for lower-class hubris to do anything other than what he pleases?

    The Ultimate Question:

If Hillary can’t, and couldn’t, control her husband - then how, pray tell, will she deal with Congress? (And those, oh so many, people?)

  3. jag Says:

The real question is: Is Bubba conciously or UNCONCIOUSLY trying to sabotage Hillary’s campaign?

Her just winning will “diminish” his “legacy”, no?
Should she actually do as well or better than him (with no scandals) wouldn’t SHE be history’s favorite?

Can a narcissist STAND being second to anyone (much less a WOMAN)? We do understand where women stand in Bill’s mind, don’t we?

Bill Clinton, in his masterful slick Will way, has gone for the Old South White Democrate playbook. By screaming OBAMA IS BLACK, OBAMA IS BLACK at the top of his voice, he is stealthly appealling to white racist to take notice and do something about it. It makes you have respect for overt racist, like Klansmen. At least they are open and honest about what they think of people who are different. Shame to Bill Clinton.
