There’s no other reason to put a tribute sports video like this on a site called AirCongress … but I need no other reason. I bleed blue and gold.
West Virginia University’s 48-28 thumping of Oklahoma in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl on Wednesday was by far the sweetest victory in my alma mater’s history — sweeter than if we hadn’t choked against the Pitt Panthers last month and had played for and won a national championship.
Our team made a statement for the great Mountain State, and this mash-up, from the doubting sports analysts and rousing game clips to the spine-tingling theme music and emotional interview with fullback Owen Schmitt, capture the essence of that statement perfectly.
