Harry Reid To Bush: ‘This War Is Lost’
April 20, 2007, 11:11pm
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said yesterday that he told President Bush in a White House meeting that the war in Iraq is lost. This Fox News clip reports on Reid’s comment and the subsequent fallout:
The fallout includes a critical podcast from Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, who called Reid’s comments “reprehensible on every level.”
“Let’s now watch what Harry does from this point forward,” Conaway said. “He’s declared a loss, declared defeat, and his moral authority to continue to keep people in harm’s way is lost. He should now begin to vote and use his powers of the leadership of the Senate to get us out and get us out of Iraq right now.”
