House Democrats this week adopted a budget resolution for fiscal 2008. Here are excerpts of the debate:

In the Senate, meanwhile, South Carolina Republican Jim DeMint urged his colleagues to impose rules on how lawmakers earmark federal money for projects in their districts and states.
