Hillary Clinton’s Chat With Google

February 26, 2007, 9:21pm

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton took her presidential campaign to Silicon Valley last week and spent some time with Google CEO Eric Schmidt on Friday as part of the Women@Google Talk series.

The New York Democrat and wife of a former president has a high enough profile in American politics and culture that Google, which owns the YouTube video-sharing site, decided to open its own YouTube channel and put the full 45-minute chat online.

For a recap of the chat, as well as photos from it, see the coverage in The Mercury News. Or watch the video for yourself here:

Hi everyone, there’s a new Zogby poll out:
    7www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.db…

Most interesting are the head to head Democrat-Republican matchups. Here are the main results the results

    If the Democrats pick Hillary:
    GIULIANI 47%, Clinton 40%
    MCCAIN 47%, Clinton 39%

    If the Democrats pick Edwards:
    GIULIANI 46%, Edwards 40%
    MCCAIN 47%, Edwards 38%

    If the Democrats pick Obama:
    OBAMA 46%, Giuliani 40%
    OBAMA 44%, McCain 40%

What do you think - who is the most electable Democrat in 2008?

  2. Deb Kay Says:

    I think it’s Obama, and that’s SCARY.

Google invites Shrill-ary to Women of Google, and a man interviews her (even if he’s the chairman of the company)? Whoever set this up lost his/her PC manual.

Sorry, I just couldn’t sit through it, so I can’t comment on the interview itself.

  3. Antonio Says:

I think that Hillary sounds like she knows what she’s talking about but unfortunatley there are too many bi-partison issues that get support by democrats that go against what the majority of the United States believe.

    Buena Suerte Estados Unidos

Hopefully, someone can stand up for real issues on both sides of partisan lines without pressure from special interest.

I don’t know what a solution would be, so excuse my bias but It seems that most americans feel the way I do.

I think this video shows Hillary at ease and in her element. While she did a great job, the structure was different from the other candidate videos, as Eric Schmidt seemed to ask more softball questions rather than the more exact questions asked in the other videos. One noticeable exception was that Hillary did not field open questions the way Richardson, McCain, Paul, and Edwards did. To the above comment on Obama, I’m an Obama supporter myself, but after hearing these other fine candidates speak, I am withholding my Obama support until he comes on and does the same thing. Anyway props to Hillary for leading the way, come back and do it again (soon) as you promised!

    Dear Hillary:

Since only two Democratic Presidential Candidates remain in the race, you and Barack Obama, to become President of the United States in 2008, I would like to know if you should become President in 2008, would you Enact into Law the Stem Cell Research Enactment Act of 2007. If yes why? If no why not?

The above question has not been asked to any Presidential Candidate.

  6. Biaggio Says:

David, why don’t you ask the same question of Obama and McCain. So where are you coming from. Your gender base. Or is misogyny ok with you.?
