HotlineTV: The GOP Edge In Georgia

Rep. Charlie Norwood of Georgia died of cancer this week, and that means his House district will be up for grabs within 40 days in a special election.
But the Hotline team said Republicans have no serious worries of losing a seat where Norwood typically won by 20 or 30 points and where President Bush prevailed by a strong margin in 2004. Hotline Editor Chuck Todd noted that Georgia is just one of two or three states where the Republican vote grew over the last two or three election cycles.
“Normally this would be cause for all sorts of political wrangling and all this stuff, but … there’s no drama,” Todd said.
